Job summary

Magic Brothers Pizzeria in Melbourne is seeking a Pizza Chef to run our store on rostered nights, delivering high-quality pizzas and leading a small team during the dinner rush. You’ll base the dough, supervise order prep, and ensure every pizza leaving the shop is something you would devour.

You’ll open and close the store using our checklists, uphold food safety standards, and mentor junior staff to build a reliable team.

Qualifications

• Available Friday and Saturday nights (essential).
• Pizza or fast-food kitchen experience preferred, but we’ll train the right person.
• Some experience leading a shift or team, or a real drive to step into that.
• Calm under pressure and a clear communicator.

Responsibilities

• Daily completion of dough basing, pizza/product creation with accuracy and efficiency.
• Opening and closing of the store using checklists.

• Ensure products meet high quality standards and adhere to recipes and safety guidelines.
• Maintain food safety, cleaning and OH&S standards.
• Count stock, place weekly orders with suppliers, and plan catering orders within budget.
• Prep and deliver catering orders, sometimes outside trading hours, paid per hour.
• Assist with waste management to keep wastage under control.
• Support Store Manager with training new staff, stock control, and end-of-day reconciliation.

Job description

We’re looking for a Pizza Chef to run our store on your rostered nights. You’ll base the dough, lead a small team through the dinner rush, and make sure every pizza that leaves the shop is one you would devour.

Full-time, 38 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday evenings, No Sundays.

What you will do:

• Daily completion of dough basing, pizza/product creation with accuracy and efficiently within a team environment. (Dough is made in our central kitchen)
• Opening and closing of the store in a timely manner, using our checklists.
• Contribute to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork and cooperation.
• Ensure that products meet the highest quality standards and adhere to recipes, presentation guidelines and OHS (occupational health and safety) requirements.
• Keep food safety, cleaning and OH&S standards up to meet our high quality standards.
• Count stock accurately, place the weekly order with suppliers and plan for catering orders, within budget.
• Prep and deliver catering orders, sometimes outside trading hours, with notice and paid for every hour.
• Play a role in waste management and reduction to ensure wastage is kept under 2% weekly wastage.
• Consistently check the quality of products by testing and tasting; suggestion improvements
• Support the Store Manager with training new staff, stock control and end-of-day reconciliation

What we are looking for:

• You care about quality and the customer in front of you
• Driver’s licence and own car (we pay a per-km allowance)
• Flexible to sometimes start early or stay back in busy periods
