Job summary

Moretti Ristorante Pizzeria in Leichhardt, Sydney, is seeking an experienced full-time Pizza Chef. You willPrepare pizza dough, shape bases, and assemble traditional Italian pizzas to restaurant standards. You will also manage oven operation, monitor temperatures, and contribute to menu development.

The role requires a relevant cookery qualification and 2+ years’ experience, with strong knowledge of Italian ingredients and techniques. On-site work with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in commercial cookery (Cert III/IV)
• At least two years of experience as a Pizza Chef or similar role
• Experience preparing pizza dough and cooking authentic Italian pizza
• Experience operating a commercial pizza oven
• Knowledge of Italian ingredients, recipes and pizza-making techniques

Responsibilities

• Prepare pizza dough, including mixing, kneading, proofing, portioning and storage.
• Stretch and shape pizza bases by hand.
• Prepare sauces, cheeses, vegetables, meats and other pizza ingredients.
• Prepare and cook traditional Italian pizzas according to recipes and standards.
• Operate and maintain the restaurant’s pizza oven safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate pizza orders during busy service periods.
• Monitor ingredient and stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
• Maintain presentation, portions and recipe standards.
• Train kitchen staff in pizza preparation and cooking procedures.
