Job summary

Talent Focus is seeking reliable Civil Labourers to join established civil construction crews across Melbourne’s northern and western suburbs. You’ll assist with earthworks, drainage, trenching, pipework and sewer infrastructure, working alongside experienced operators and site teams.

Qualifications

• Previous civil construction experience is essential.
• White Card required and current Australian driver’s licence is advantageous.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform general civil labouring duties across construction sites.
• Assist with trenching, drainage, earthworks and site preparation.
• Support pipeline, sewer or water works as part of the team.
• Load, unload and move materials and equipment safely.
• Set up and pack down equipment and work areas.
• Operate and maintain small plant and tools where required.
• Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a positive team culture.
• Work with site crews to ensure projects stay on schedule.

Civil Labourer

We are currently seeking reliable Civil Labourers to join a number of established civil construction crews working across Melbourne’s northern and western suburbs.

These are excellent opportunities for people looking for ongoing work with large and reputable civil construction companies, working across a variety of civil infrastructure and construction projects.

You’ll be working alongside experienced operators, trades, technicians and site crews, assisting with a broad range of civil construction activities. These include earthworks, drainage, trenching, pipework, sewer and water infrastructure, as well as pipeline testing and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general civil labouring duties across construction sites
• Assist with trenching, drainage, earthworks and site preparation
• Assist with water, sewer and drainage infrastructure works
• Support pipeline testing, inspection, repair and maintenance
• Assist with hydrostatic and air pressure testing where required
• Assist machine operators with spotting and general site activities
• Assist with pipework, concrete works and other civil construction activities
• Load, unload and move materials and equipment safely
• Set up and pack down equipment and work areas
• Operate and maintain small plant, tools and equipment where required
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised site
• Follow all site safety procedures and contribute to a positive team culture
• Work effectively as part of a team to ensure projects stay on schedule

About You:

• Previous civil construction experience is essential
• White Card is essential
• Experience across general civil construction, earthworks, drainage, trenching or infrastructure
• Experience with pipeline, sewer or water works is highly regarded
• Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on labouring work
• Reliable, punctual and willing to get stuck in
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Able to work outdoors in varying conditions
• Team-focused and safety-conscious
• Current Australian driver's licence is advantageous
• Plant tickets such as excavator, skid steer, roller or loader are highly advantageous
• Confined Space and/or Working at Heights tickets also advantageous
