Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland's BlueCare division is seeking a Physiotherapist to deliver community-based services in Wynnum, Carina, Wacol and surrounding areas. Roles are permanent full-time or part-time (minimum three days per week).

You will assess individuals, develop care plans, and coordinate with GPs and nurses while educating carers and residents on therapy. Essential: AHPRA registration, physiotherapy degree, Australian driver’s licence, and a work vehicle.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in physiotherapy and full AHPRA registration (essential).
• Experience in aged care or community settings preferred.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work autonomously.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and a roadworthy vehicle for work (essential).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, assess and develop care plans for individuals and groups.
• Prescribe and select appropriate adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
• Educate carers, clients and residents on therapy aspects.
• Set goals, support reablement and discharge planning.

Physiotherapist | Blue Care | Carina Allied Health |Community Based

• Employment Term: Permanent Full Time or Part Time (minimum 3 days per week) Monday to Friday
• Location: Servicing areas of Wynnum - Carina - Wacol and surrounding regions
• Remuneration: $42.15 to $53.96 p/hr (dependent on experience) + Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging + Penalties & Allowances
• Classification: PO2.1 to PO3.1 - determined by demonstrated experience

You’ll have the opportunity to develop treatment programs, helping clients and residents to manage their movement, pain, balance and manual handling. This will include:

• Diagnosing, assessing and developing care plans for individuals and groups
• Prescription and selection of appropriate adaptive equipment and assistive technology
• Education and training on aspects of therapy for carers, clients and residents
• Goal setting activities, as well reablement and discharge planning
• Liaising with healthcare professionals, such as GPs, nurses and occupational therapists to ensure care plans are coordinated and monitored

You’ll be passionate about providing high-quality clinical treatment and therapies designed to enable your clients to maintain and improve their function. You’ll be self-motivated and driven to incorporate contemporary theory in your day-to-day activities and make a real difference to the lives of our clients and residents! You’ll present with:

• Tertiary Qualifications and full, unrestricted AHPRA registration and unlimited work entitlements - Essential
• Previous experience within an Aged Care or Community setting
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build great relationships
• Confidence in managing your time effectively, including an ability to work autonomously.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence - Essential
• Roadworthy & insured (Third Party Property minimum) vehicle to use for work- Essential
• Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies
