Nexigen Digital is seeking a Software Engineer to join a close, agile team delivering new projects and improvements to internal and customer-facing systems. You will build secure, scalable PHP code using Laravel, Symfony or Phalcon, and collaborate with product managers and engineers to deliver features.

The role emphasizes problem solving, continuous learning, and teamwork in a dynamic Melbourne environment. You will contribute to ongoing projects and new initiatives across platforms.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of PHP development experience; personal or self-taught experience considered.
• Strong understanding of PHP and MVC patterns.
• Experience with Laravel, Symfony or Phalcon.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and command line.
• Solid MySQL/MariaDB skills and database design experience.
• Experience integrating external APIs and services.
• Proficient with Git/GitHub and version control workflows.
• Able to collaborate in a team and follow established processes; avoid ego-driven development.

Responsibilities

• Build secure, reliable, scalable code across platforms.
• Work with PHP technologies such as Laravel and PHP 8.4.
• Maintain and enhance core billing and CRM systems and related platforms.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to scope, test and deploy features.
• Tackle complex integration scenarios with external providers.
• Continuously learn and improve technical skills.
