Job summary

Nexigen Digital, based in Melbourne, is seeking a Software Engineer to join a close, agile team delivering updates to internal and customer-facing systems. The role focuses on secure, scalable PHP development using Laravel and related tech, with opportunities to work across core billing, CRM, and registrar platforms.

The successful candidate will have 3+ years of PHP experience, strong MVC knowledge, and familiarity with Linux and MySQL/MariaDB.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of PHP development experience.
• Strong understanding of PHP and MVC design patterns.
• Experience with PHP frameworks Laravel, Symfony and Phalcon.
• Comfort with Linux environments.
• Relational databases with MySQL/MariaDB; database schema design.
• Experience integrating external APIs.
• Git version control and GitHub usage.

Responsibilities

• Build secure, reliable, and scalable code across platforms.
• Work with PHP technologies such as Laravel 12 and PHP 8.4.
• Maintain and improve core billing and CRM systems, registrar platforms, and new projects.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to scope, build, test, and deploy features.
• Solve complex integration scenarios with external providers.
• Commit to learning new skills and improving code quality.
