Job summary

Queensland Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Sunshine Coast University Hospital Pathology Queensland Laboratory. You will be responsible for collection of diagnostic samples and processing duties, with patient-focused service and adherence to quality standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork, accurate specimen handling, and following written procedures, with opportunities to contribute to quality improvement and staff development in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect diagnostic samples, including blood.
• Follow patient identification, labelling, collection and processing policies.
• Work with minimal supervision after instruction and support supervisory staff as required.
• Perform general laboratory duties, including receiving specimens and entering requests into the LIMS.
• Maintain the work area and restock consumables.
• Adhere to accreditation/certification requirements (NATA/ISO) and assist with quality procedures.
