Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience or ability to acquire specimen collection/phlebotomy procedures with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of standard precautions when dealing with patients and specimens.
• Experience or ability to handle preanalytical processing of specimens for lab analysis.
• Ability to follow instructions and work conscientiously with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Collect high-quality blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients.
• Assist with phlebotomy, specimen reception/processing, packaging and referral.
• Provide laboratory support and stock control as part of a busy team.
