Qualifications

• Certificate III in Pathology Collections is required.
• Degree in science or medical qualification such as Biomedical Science or Medical Science.
• Previous phlebotomy experience and ICH/GCP familiarity are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical trial administrative and operational support within a multidisciplinary team.
• Perform venepuncture and specimen processing, packaging and shipping per protocol.
• Maintain Investigator Site File with required documents and quality review.
• Accurate data entry into the clinical trial database and monitor query resolution.
• Support study status reports and trial coordination activities as needed.
• Manage trial inventory and supply ordering; assist with site meetings.
• Use EMR and CTMS for trial information and assist unblinded pharmacy teams.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity in Brookvale, NSW to join a collaborative team of Clinical Research professionals focused on improving patient outcomes through advancement of Phase I to IV clinical trials. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced phlebotomist interested in building a career in clinical trials.

We are a seeking a dynamic Phlebotomist who will also be able to support with some Clinical Trial Assistant duties who has a desire to contribute to the development of new treatment approaches by supporting the Clinical Trials Site team. The successful candidate is driven by an agile, fast-paced, collaborative work culture and is motivated to meet milestones while retaining focus on trial quality and participant safety.

Tasks & responsibilities:

Provide clinical trial administrative and operational support within a multidisciplinary clinical trial team and ensure adherence to timeline and quality expectations

Complete venepuncture and specimen processing, packaging and shipping according to clinical trial protocol requirements

Centrifuge specimens and prepare aliquots (if needed)

Complete accurate data entry into the clinical trial database and assist with monitor query resolution

Responsible for the Investigator Site File which includes collection of required documents, filing, and quality review according to GCP

Support Clinical Trial Coordinators with completion of study status reports

Manage clinical trial inventory and supply ordering

Provide administrative support for study and site meetings

Setup and maintain trial information within electronic medical records and clinical trial management systems

Support the unblinded pharmacy team as needed

Assist with other duties as required, e.g. calibration, equipment checks

Attend team meetings and training sessions

May be requested to work an evening or weekend shift on occasion

About you:

Previous experience as a phlebotomist

A calm demeanour with trial participants

Demonstrated interest in Clinical Trials

Organised with strong administrative skills

Deliver high quality work that balances attention to detail with a risk-based approach

Have an agile mindset

Driven by a fast-paced environment and changing landscape with a focus on customer service

Ability to work independently with a high-level of initiative

Basic knowledge ICH/GCP E6 R2

Proficiency with learning & understanding systems (Microsoft Office, TMF, CTMS)

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
