Job summary

NSW Health in Scone Memorial Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Grade 1 for a permanent part-time role (4 hours per week). You will dispense medications, prepare sterile stock and formulations, ensuring safe handling and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

You will work with a supportive team of pharmacists and technicians across inpatient and community services in a picturesque part of the Upper Hunter region, offering country living and diverse clinical experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum accredited Pharmacy Technician Certificate III (Hospital Pharmacy or Community Dispensary) or equivalent.
• Previous pharmacy experience or imprest system management is desirable.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.

About the role and where you will be working

Join a dedicated team delivering safe, high-quality pharmaceutical care across Scone Hospital and four surrounding sites. Working in a fast-paced environment, you’ll be part of a strong multidisciplinary team, using your technical skills and patient-focused approach to make a real difference.

Your role will include dispensing medications, preparing sterile stock and formulations, ensuring safe and compliant medication handling, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. You’ll work alongside a supportive team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians across a diverse range of inpatient and community services.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is organised, reliable and passionate about providing safe, high-quality pharmacy services. Previous pharmacy experience or experience managing an imprest system is highly desirable.

You’ll bring strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. A willingness to learn, work collaboratively and contribute to quality improvement initiatives will see you thrive in this role.

Requirements

Completed a minimum of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Certificate III issued by a Registered Training Organisation in Hospital Pharmacy or Community Dispensary or has qualifications deemed by the employer to be equivalent.

Participate in weekend and public holiday rosters and do overtime as required.
