Job summary

Chemist Warehouse on the Sunshine Coast is seeking a motivated Retail Manager to lead daily store operations, drive sales, and deliver outstanding customer service. This role includes managing stock, staff rosters, and merchandising while maintaining a safe, compliant retail environment.

You will build strong team relationships, coach front-of-pharmacy staff, and ensure promotional compliance across brands. A dynamic, customer‑focused store awaits the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in business, retail, management or a related field; or at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Retail experience in high-volume pharmacy environments is required and advantageous.
• Experience managing stock levels, merchandising and inventory control in a busy retail setting.
• Proven ability to work towards and achieve sales targets and KPIs.
• Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to de-escalate situations with customers and staff.
• Ability to build strong relationships with staff, pharmacists, and management.
• Willingness to learn, adapt and grow with the business.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Competence with POS systems and basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office)

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day retail operations to run smoothly and optimise sales and profitability.
• Ensure customer service is consistently high and provide product advice within non-dispensary scope.
• Interview, hire, induct and roster front-of-pharmacy staff; train on current promotions and store policies.
• Maintain stock levels and records, monitor store expenses and budgeting.
• Uphold health and safety, security procedures and foster a positive, inclusive work environment.
