Job summary

Canterbury Hospital, part of Sydney Local Health District, is recruiting a Pharmacist Grade 1/2 to provide pharmaceutical services to inpatients and outpatients and to support dispensaries and production areas.

The role rotates between clinical duties and service areas, delivering education and medicines information to patients and health care teams. Registration with AHPRA or eligibility is required, with ongoing professional development expected.

Qualifications

• Current Pharmacist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or eligible for immediate registration.
• Ability to apply current and good practical therapeutic knowledge in a clinical environment.
• Demonstrated ongoing commitment to the professional development relevant to areas of practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality pharmaceutical services to inpatients and outpatients.
• Rotate between clinical and service area rosters.
• Educate and provide medicines information services to patients and other health care professionals.

About the Role

The Grade 1/2 Pharmacist is responsible for the provision of quality pharmaceutical services to inpatients and outpatients. Grade 1 and 2, rotate between the clinical & service area rosters. On clinical duties they provide pharmaceutical care to inpatients and in the service areas they provide pharmacy support to the dispensaries and production. Pharmacists, Grade 1 and 2, provide education and medicines information services to patients and other health care professionals and participate as active members of multi-disciplined teams.

• Current Pharmacist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or eligible for immediate registration, and able to practice independently. Grade 2 Pharmacists must meet the criteria set out in the Award and are expected to be able to demonstrate continual ability to meet three of the five competencies within the Award.
• Ability to apply current and good practical therapeutic knowledge in a clinical environment.
• Demonstrated ongoing commitment to the professional development relevant to areas of practice.
