AFL Recruitment - Accounting Financial Legal in Melbourne VIC is seeking a Personal Injury Lawyer specializing in abuse cases (2 years to Special Counsel), offering a hybrid work model and a salary band of AUD 90,000 to 250,000 per year.

You will manage your own files, review medical evidence, draft and argue court matters, with mentoring from a top Partner and a pathway to equity. The role is nationally focused with potential to work across related PI areas.

Qualifications

• Admitted solicitor in VIC with at least 2 years in personal injury.
• Experience in institutional abuse law (18 months min).
• Hands-on and desires ownership of own files and clients.
• Strong drafting and advocacy skills; client-centric and results-driven.
• Ambitious, commercially astute with high emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Manage own personal injury files; obtain client instructions, review medical evidence.
• Provide technical legal advice; liaise with third parties; brief counsel.
• Attend court and settlement conferences; potential mixed abuse role with other PI areas.
• Contribute to growth and pathway toward equity partner in a no-limits culture.

As a valued key lawyer in Victoria, reporting to+ being mentored by an outstanding Partner (an industry-leading top calibre Accredited Specialist), you will relish the challenge+autonomy+ satisfaction of obtaining justice for your clients in respect of their institutional/historical abuse claims.

You will have full-spectrum carriage of your own files+ manage your own practice-obtaining client instructions, reviewing medical evidence, legal research, providing technical legal advice, liaising with third parties, briefing counsel and attending court/settlement conferences.

ONLY IF YOU desire a mixed personal injury role, some scope to practice in 1 other non-abuse area of personal injury law (eg public liability, medical negligence etc) if you have relevant experience.

are an admitted solicitor in VICand have minimum 2+ YEARS experience (up to special counsel) in personal injury law including minimum 18 months specifically in institutionalabuse law (essential);
