AFL Recruitment Pty Ltd is partnering with a leading national plaintiff firm to appoint a Personal Injury Lawyer focusing on abuse claims in Melbourne. You will manage complex institutional abuse litigation, liaise with clients, medical experts, insurers and counsel, and drive case strategy from inception to resolution.

You will have access to senior mentorship from an Accredited Specialist partner, with a clear path toward Special Counsel, and a hybrid arrangement offering one day per week of

• Admitted lawyer in VIC.
• Minimum 4 years experience in personal injury law, including historical/institutional abuse claims (essential).
• Carriage of/managed abuse cases from start to finish.
• Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsabilidades

• Liaise with clients, doctors, solicitors and insurers; prepare letters and court documents; submit briefs to counsel.
• Undertake legal research; review medical evidence; maintain time records and billing.
• Attend settlement conferences, mediations and court hearings.

If you desire some VARIETY, scope to also practice in any one of: 1) medical negligence OR 2) public liability (if you have such exp).

You will be liaising with clients/doctors/solicitors/insurers, preparing letters/court documents, submissions+ briefs to counsel, undertaking legal research, reviewing medical evidence, time recording/billing and attending settlement conferences/mediations and court hearings.

WHO YOU ARE

• an admitted lawyer in VIC;
• have MINIMUM 4 years experience (or MORE up to special counsel)in personal injury law including specifically in historical/institutional abuse claims (essential);
• have had carriage of/ managed abuse cases from start to finish;
• have proven ability to work in a busy fast-paced deadline driven environment;
• are ambitious+ results-driven with a high work ethic;
• have outstanding communication, time prioritisation+ people skills;
