Job summary

The United Protestant Association of NSW Limited (UPA) is hiring a Care Service Employee for Melrose Hostel in the Sydney Region. You will support residents with person-centred care, daily living activities, and medication assistance where competent, helping them stay connected to activities they love.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support completed or in progress.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Care Service Employee to join our team at Melrose Hostel in our Sydney Region.

You will make a difference to our residents by facilitating positive health and well-being options for individuals, their families, and carers.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

• Provision of a wide range of Person-Centred Care duties
• Assistance with medication (if you are assessed as medication competent) and wound dressing
• Assistance in daily living activities
• Working with each resident to continue to do the things they love

We are also willing to invest in training and offer you all the support you might need in order to succeed in your role.

In fulfilling the role, it is essential that you have:

• A Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support (or working towards)
• The ability to provide a wide range of person-centred care duties
• A desire and willingness to work with each resident to empower them to continue to do the things that they love
• Care skills that are driven by compassion
• Experience in Aged Care desirable
• Current First Aid Certificate desirable
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player who is highly motivated
• Availability to work various shifts across various days
