United Protestant Association of NSW Limited in NSW seeks a Home Care Employee to deliver person-centred care to consumers at Melrose hostel, Pendle Hill. You will assist with daily living, provide social support and help maintain dignity and privacy for clients.

You’ll work under the Home Care Manager, using Consumer Directed Care principles; a Certificate III in Individual Support is required and a current First Aid certificate is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (or working towards).
• Ability to provide person-centred care and activities of daily living.
• Understanding of Consumer Directed Care and Person-Centred Care principles.
• Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain.

Responsabilités

• Assist in providing individualised care using consumer directed care principles.
• Support activities of daily living including personal care, domestic tasks and social support.
• Ensure privacy, confidentiality and dignity in all interactions.
• Respond to emergencies with basic first aid within role scope.
• Maintain written records of consumer care and incidents.
• Report hazards and incidents and assist with control measures.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Home Care Employee to provide individualised, flexible and innovative quality care & services to consumers in the community for Melrose hostel in Pendle Hill.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

• Assisting in the provision of individualised care - using the consumer directed care approach for our Consumers under the direction of the Home Care Manager or designated Coordinator;
• Assisting Consumers with activities of daily living according to assessed needs and goals as specified in their Care Plan, such as: personal care; domestic assistance; social and emotional support; transportation; respite for carer/family members;
• Ensuring privacy, confidentiality and dignity of consumers and maintain professional working relationship at all times;
• Responding to emergency situations using first aid within the responsibilities of a Home Care Employee;
• Reporting and maintaining appropriate written records regarding consumer care;
• Reporting of any Incidents and Hazards identified during your working day and working with the Home Care Manager to implement control measures

What you bring

• A Certificate III in Individual Support (or working towards)
• The ability to provide a wide range of person-centred care duties
• An understanding of the Consumer Directed Care and Person-Centred Care principles
• Care skills that are driven by compassionand empathy
• Experience in Aged Care desirable
• Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Excellent communication skills
• Hold a current Australian Driver’s Licence
• A registered and comprehensively insured motor vehicle and willingness to use for consumer services
• Team player who is highly motivatedand ability to work autonomously
• Confidence in use of technology
• Availability to work various shifts across various days
