The United Protestant Association of NSW Limited (UPA) is a values-driven not-for-profit care organisation delivering residential aged care and home services across NSW. We are seeking a Home Care Employee to provide person-centred, flexible care to consumers in the Melrose hostel in Pendle Hill.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (or working towards).
• Ability to provide a wide range of person-centred care duties.
• Understanding of Consumer Directed Care and Person-Centred Care principles.
• Care skills driven by compassion and empathy.
• Experience in Aged Care desirable.
• Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Hold a current Australian Driver’s Licence.
• Registered and comprehensively insured motor vehicle for consumer services.
• Team player who is highly motivated and able to work autonomously.
• Confidence in use of technology.
• Availability to work various shifts across various days.

Responsabilités

• Assisting in the provision of individualised care using consumer directed care approach under supervision.
• Assisting Consumers with activities of daily living per Care Plan (personal care, domestic, social support, transport, respite).
• Ensuring privacy, confidentiality and dignity of consumers and maintaining professional relationships.
• Responding to emergency situations using first aid within Home Care Employee responsibilities.
• Reporting and maintaining appropriate written records regarding consumer care.
• Reporting of Incidents and Hazards and assisting to implement control measures.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Home Care Employee to provide individualised, flexible and innovative quality care & services to consumers in the community for Melrose hostel in Pendle Hill.

Duties will include (but not limited to): -

• Assisting in the provision of individualised care - using the consumer directed care approach for our Consumers under the direction of the Home Care Manager or designated Coordinator;
• Assisting Consumers with activities of daily living according to assessed needs and goals as specified in their Care Plan, such as: personal care; domestic assistance; social and emotional support; transportation; respite for carer/family members;
• Ensuring privacy, confidentiality and dignity of consumers and maintain professional working relationship at all times;
• Responding to emergency situations using first aid within the responsibilities of a Home Care Employee;
• Reporting and maintaining appropriate written records regarding consumer care;
• Reporting of any Incidents and Hazards identified during your working day and working with the Home Care Manager to implement control measures

What you bring

• A Certificate III in Individual Support (or working towards)

Pre-employment screening
