Job summary

BlueCare in Mackay is seeking a Personal Carer to deliver in-home palliative care to clients in the community. You will support end-of-life needs, assisting with daily living activities, mobility and personal care, guided by individual Care Plans.

You will drive to client home visits across Mackay and surrounds, using your smartphone or tablet to update records and coordinate with the BlueCare team. A Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent is essential, along with a valid driver’s licence

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home palliative care to clients in the community and support end-of-life wishes.
• Spend time on the road completing scheduled visits and interact one-on-one with clients at home.
• Assist with daily living activities such as showering, hygiene, meal prep, and light housework.
• Care according to individual Care Plans and support community activities.

BlueCare's specialised palliative care services is growing throughout Queensland. Responsibilities

• You will provide care to your palliative care clients living in the community, supporting their end of life wishes and improving their quality of life.


• Spending your time on the road completing scheduled visits, interacting one-on-one with clients within their homes supporting with daily activities.


• In home personal care, daily living assistance including showering, personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning, laundry and ironing.


• Providing care in accordance with their individualised Care Plan.


• Supporting with community based recreational and social activities.


• Transportation and assistance with shopping and appointments.

Requirements

• Certificate III Aged Care, Individual Support or an equivalent qualification - Essential


• Current Australian Driver’s Licence (Green Provisional minimum) - Essential


• Roadworthy & insured (Third Party Property minimum) vehicle to use for work- Essential


• Experience with technology incl. smartphones, tablets, laptops etc.


• Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies
