Job summary

BlueCare, part of UnitingCare, is seeking a Personal Carer to visit clients in Rockhampton and surrounding areas, delivering in-home personal care and daily living support.

You will work as part of a respected not-for-profit team, using modern tools to maintain care plans, while helping clients stay independent and connected with community activities. The role offers permanent part-time hours and attractive benefits.

Qualifications

• Evidence of compassionate and patient-centred care.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and families.
• Comfortable using smartphones/tablets for care planning and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Visit clients at home for scheduled personal care and daily living support.
• Provide in-home personal care (showering, hygiene, meals, cleaning, laundry).
• Assist clients with activities based on individual care plans.
• Support participation in community-based activities and appointments.
• Ensure safety and dignity while transporting clients and accompanying shopping.

About the role:

• Spending your time on the road completing scheduled visits, interacting one-on-one with clients within their homes supporting with daily activities
• In home personal care, daily living assistance including showering, personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning, laundry and ironing
• Providing care in accordance with their individualised Care Plan
• Supporting with community based recreational and social activities
• Transportation and assistance with shopping and appointments

Role requirements:

• Certificate III Aged Care, Individual Support or an equivalent qualification - Essential
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence (Green Provisional minimum) - Essential
• Roadworthy & insured (Third Party Property minimum) vehicle to use for work- Essential
• Experience with technology incl. smartphones, tablets, laptops etc. Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies
