Job summary

Collarcare is seeking passionate Personal Care Workers to support residents in Aged Care Facilities across Cairns and Far North Queensland. You will assist with daily living, personal care, nutrition, and medication support while maintaining infection control and a holistic care approach.

Ideal candidates hold a Certificate III in Individual Support, have vaccination and police/NDIS clearances, and demonstrate reliability, good communication, and empathy in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent.
• COVID vaccination (including booster).
• 3 months minimum experience in an Australian aged care facility.
• Current Police Check and NDIS Clearance or willingness to obtain.
• Valid work rights.
• Current CPR & First Aid certification.
• NDIS Worker Screening or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living including personal care and grooming.
• Document residents' condition and assist with medications.
• Support meal consumption and monitor nutrition.
• Implement infection control and prevention measures.
• Assist the registered nurse to follow a holistic care model.
• Aid in admission and transition for residents and families.
• Liaise with residents, family, doctors and allied health.
• Act in line with aged care standards on each shift.

• Assisting in admission and easing the transition for residents and their families.
• Liaison with all stakeholders including residents, family, doctors and allied health.
• Acting in accordance with aged care standards on every shift.
