Job summary

Calvary Health Care in Launceston, TAS seeks a Personal Care Worker for Riverside Aged Care Home. This permanent role offers AM/PM shifts across a fortnightly roster, supporting the Home Manager and peers to deliver high-quality resident care.

The position requires a Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent, a passion for aged care, and strong interpersonal skills. Previous experience is preferable; join a mission-based organisation with a supportive team environment.

• Previous experience in a similar role in aged care is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Support residents to live the life they choose, enabling them to exercise choice and independence.
• Contribute to the physical, emotional and lifestyle needs of residents through assessment and observation.
• Implement clinical and care interventions as delegated by the Registered Nurse and documented in the resident's care plan.
• Assist residents with personal care and hygiene, encouraging independence.
• Document and report by exception in progress notes where PCs document, including evaluation of interventions.
• Plan and organise work; tasks delegated by Home Manager/Registered Nurse under supervision.
• Ensure the resident care plan is known and followed.

  Your main duties will include:

  • Support residents to live the life they choose allowing them to exercise choice and independence.
  • Contributes to the physical, emotional and lifestyle needs and wants of the residents, through assessment and observation.
  • Implements clinical and care interventions as delegated by the Registered Nurse, and as documented in the residents plan of care.
  • Assists the residents with their personal care and hygiene needs whilst encouraging their independence.
  • At a site where PCs document, then documents and reports by exception in the progress notes, including the evaluation of interventions are a part of the role.

  About you:

  • A Certificate III in Aged Care, or relevant qualification
  • A passion for working in Aged Care and a sound understanding of the sector
  • Previous experience in a similar role in Aged Care is preferable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
