Job summary

Honeysuckle Regional Health / Violet Town Bush Nursing Centre in Violet Town, VIC, is seeking casual Personal Care Assistants to join a welcoming team. The role focuses on delivering person-centred care in a community-owned aged care setting, with emphasis on maintaining residents’ dignity and independence.

You will assist residents with ADLs, observe changes, and document care activities in line with individual care plans, policies, and infection control guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification of Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• One year experience in an Australian residential aged care facility.
• A positive team approach to caring.
• The ability to follow policies, processes and instructions.
• Experience in dementia care or palliative care (preferred).
• Further training related to the Aged Care Quality Standards.
• A desire to learn with ongoing professional development and participation in continuous quality programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) in a respectful and dignified manner.
• Support residents to maintain independence while tailoring care to individual preferences, cultural background, beliefs and life experiences.
• Monitor, observe and report any changes in physical, mental or emotional wellbeing to the clinical team.
• Ensure safe and effective personal care practices, including infection prevention and control, adherence to individualised care plans, and the use of appropriate equipment.
• Maintain accurate, timely and confidential documentation, including daily care notes, incident reports, resident preferences and communication.
• Uphold residents’ rights to dignity, choice, privacy and identity in all aspects of care.
• Work within, scope of practice, following organisational policies, procedures Code of Conduct, safety guidelines, and relevant legislation.

You will:
