Job summary

Doutta Galla Aged Services is seeking a Casual Personal Care Assistant to join our dedicated team in Melbourne's western suburbs. You will provide high-quality, person-centred care across our aged care homes and support residents in daily activities.

Please bring experience in aged care, a relevant certificate, and a compassionate, team-oriented approach. This casual role offers flexibility to fit your availability while contributing to a caring community and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Experience in personal care in aged care setting.
• Certificate III or IV in Aged Care/Disability or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally with residents, including dementia.
• Document progress notes concisely and accurately.
• Work effectively in a team and follow Care Plan processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful personal care (hygiene, dressing, mobility).
• Assist with daily living activities and meals.
• Foster independence, dignity and choice for residents.
• Maintain accurate documentation per Aged Care Quality Standards.

We have casual opportunities available across our aged care homes located in Melbourne western suburbs, offering flexibility to suit your availability while allowing you to provide high-quality, person-centred care in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide respectful personal care, including hygiene assistance, dressing and mobility supportto the residents.
• Assist residents with daily living activities and meals.
• Foster independence, dignity, and individual choice for each resident.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with Aged Care Quality Standards.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

What you will bring:

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in personal care ideally in an aged care setting
• Experience caring for people living with dementia.Certificate III or Certificate IV in Aged Care/Disability (or equivalent e.g. Individual Support)
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and non-verbally with residents living with dementia and/or where English is a second language.
• Demonstrated ability to document concisely and effectively in resident progress notes
• Ability to work effectively and respectfully in a team environment.
• Knowledge of the Care Plan process and the relevant assessments required.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach.
