Job summary

Public Sector People are recruiting a Permits Officer for a 3-6 month temporary contract with a Northern suburb, Melbourne location.

You will assess, approve, and manage applications relating to works within road reserves, review traffic management plans for compliance with legislation, provide outstanding customer service by dealing with inquiries, and educate the community on relevant regulations and Acts that protect amenity and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• TMD1 Traffic Management Designer qualification is essential.
• Strong admin background required.

Permits Officer - Traffic Management Designer

Public Sector People are working closely with a council in the northern suburbs to recruit a Permits Officer for a 3-6 month temporary contract.

Location: Northern suburb, Melbourne

Duration: ASAP start for 3-6 months

Rate: $40-50 per hour plus super

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, approve, and manage applications relating to works within road reserves, activities on roads that may significantly impact normal road use and filming activities on public land.
• Review and ensure all submitted traffic management plans comply with relevant legislation.
• Provide outstanding customer service by dealing with incoming queries
• Where appropriate, educate the community around relevant regulation and Acts that protect the amenity and infrastructure of the community.

Key Criteria

• Traffic Management Designer qualifications are essential, specifically TMD1
• Strong administrative background
• Ability to read, design, implement and assess traffic management plans
• Ability to deal with challenging customers
• Understanding of Local Government Local Laws
