Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a capable leader to manage a team responsible for parks, gardens, reserves and open spaces in Blacktown City. The role balances field work with day-to-day operations, coordinating programs, supervising staff and ensuring spaces are clean and safe for residents and visitors.

You will oversee weed control, garden and turf maintenance, mulching, watering and renovation works while ensuring safety and training for your team, with ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in parks and gardens a plus.
• Strong leadership and team supervision abilities.
• Good communication with staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise parks maintenance team across Blacktown City Council areas.
• Coordinate daily work programs, allocate resources and monitor schedules.
• Oversee weed control, turf maintenance, mulching and landscape works.
• Ensure safety when using plant, equipment and chemicals; maintain records.
