Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a Parks and Gardens Worker to maintain parks, sports fields, gardens and open spaces. You will mow, edge, plant, prune and water, using mowers, whipper snippers and edgers. The role is outdoors, physical and varied, with opportunities for training and career growth.

The council offers an entry level salary commencing at $1,248.18 per week, a fortnightly RDO, 12% superannuation and competitive leave. Ongoing development and wellbeing programs are provided.

Qualifications

• Maintains parks, reserves, gardens, nature strips and open spaces.
• Operates equipment such as mowers, whipper snippers and edgers.
• Work is physical, outdoors and varied with visible community impact.

Responsibilities

• Mow, edge, plant, prune, water garden beds and control weeds.
• Carry out daily checks and maintenance on plant and equipment.
• Identify hazards and report them; follow safety procedures and complete required records.
