Job summary

Queensland Government's RoadTek is seeking a Mechanical Tradesperson to service, maintain and repair heavy vehicles and mobile plant across South West Queensland. You will diagnose faults, perform breakdown repairs in workshop and field settings, and undertake fabrication and welding where needed, while upholding safety and quality standards.

Positions are permanent full‑time in Toowoomba, Roma or Warwick, with a 76‑hour fortnight and progressive development opportunities.

Qualifications

• A recognised mechanical trade qualification.
• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles, plant or related equipment.
• A current Queensland C Class Driver Licence.
• Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to safe work practices.
• The ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to team outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair heavy vehicles, mobile plant and associated equipment.
• Diagnose faults and undertake breakdown repairs in workshop and field environments.
• Complete maintenance records, inspections and work orders.
• Undertake fabrication and welding activities where required.
• Contribute to a strong safety culture and high-quality workmanship standards.
• Support RoadTek operations delivering infrastructure projects in Quilpie and across South West Queensland.
