Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads QLD – Toowoomba QLD is seeking qualified Mechanical Tradespeople to join our South West team. Based in Toowoomba, Warwick or Roma, you'll maintain and repair a diverse fleet of heavy vehicles and plant equipment that support road infrastructure projects across the region.

Qualifications

• A recognised mechanical trade qualification.
• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles, plant or related equipment.
• A current Queensland C Class Driver Licence.
• Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to safe work practices.
• The ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to team outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair heavy vehicles, mobile plant and related equipment.
• Diagnose faults and undertake breakdown repairs in workshop and field environments.
• Complete maintenance records, inspections and work orders.
• Undertake fabrication and welding activities where required.
• Contribute to a strong safety culture and high-quality workmanship standards.
• Support RoadTek operations delivering infrastructure projects in Quilpie and across South West Queensland.
