Job summary

Queensland Government is seeking a Mechanical Tradesperson to service, maintain and repair heavy vehicles and mobile plant across South West Queensland. You will diagnose faults, perform breakdown repairs in workshop or field settings and complete maintenance records and work orders.

The role includes fabrication/welding where needed, contributing to safety and quality standards, and supporting RoadTek projects in Quilpie and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical trade qualification (certified).
• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles, plant or related equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to safe work practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to team outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair heavy vehicles, mobile plant and related equipment.
• Diagnose faults and undertake breakdown repairs in workshop and field environments.
• Complete maintenance records, inspections and work orders.
• Undertake fabrication and welding activities as required.
• Contribute to a strong safety culture and high-quality workmanship standards.
• Support RoadTek operations delivering infrastructure projects in Quilpie and across South West Queensland.
