Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a Parks and Gardens Team Leader to oversee a team maintaining parks, gardens, and open spaces across Blacktown City. The role involves coordinating daily work programs, supervising staff, and ensuring maintenance remains on schedule.

You will manage weed control, turf and garden maintenance, mulching, watering and landscape renovations, while ensuring safe use of plant and chemical products. Engage with staff and residents to resolve issues and train your team.

Qualifications

• Strong parks and gardens experience.
• Experience in leading teams and organising practical work.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to maintain parks, gardens, reserves and open spaces across Blacktown City; coordinate daily work programs, supervise staff, allocate resources and keep maintenance on schedule.
• Oversee weed control programs, garden and turf maintenance, mulching, watering, landscape maintenance and renovation works.
• Monitor safe use of plant, equipment and chemicals; manage hazard reporting; complete operational records; train and coach your team.
• Work with staff and the public to provide information and resolve issues as they arise.
