Job summary

Life Without Barriers Education is seeking a Youth Worker for a Permanent Full Time role in Grafton. You will work with teachers to support students’ wellbeing, engagement and learning in a safe, trauma-informed setting.

Responsibilities include in-class assistance, wellbeing programs, building relationships with students and families, and collaborating with community agencies. Applicants must have Education Support or Youth Work qualifications and an ability to drive 12-seat vehicles; probity

Qualifications

Qualifications in Education Support or Youth Work
Experience engaging with young people with complex needs
High level communication with students, families and communities
Strong organisational skills for wellbeing programs and activities
Current First Aid certification
Current unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence and ability to drive 12 seat vehicles

Responsibilities

Support student learning and engagement through in-class assistance and wellbeing programs
Foster a safe, inclusive environment and support trauma-informed practice
Build positive relationships with students and families to promote wellbeing and life skills
Collaborate with teachers, teams and community agencies for integrated support
Participate in school routines, activities and professional development
Maintain records and comply with child safety and organisational policies
