Job summary

Life Without Barriers Education Limited in Grafton is seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to support student learning, wellbeing and engagement in a safe, trauma-informed environment. You will work with teachers to implement inclusive programs, monitor progress, and foster strong relationships with students and families.

Permanent full-time role commencing October 2026, with salary packaging benefits and a supportive school community committed to re-engagement in education.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in Education Support, Youth Work or equivalent.
• Experience engaging and supporting young people with complex needs.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Current First Aid certification and a valid driver’s licence.

Role: Youth Worker (Life Without Barriers Education)

Campus Staffing: 2 Teachers, 1 Youth Worker

Salary: Life Without Barriers Education Enterprise Agreement 2026 | Fair Work Commission

As the Youth Worker you will work alongside our teaching staff to support the wellbeing, engagement and learning for young people in a safe, inclusive and trauma-informed environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support student learning and engagement through in-class assistance, wellbeing programs, and individual learning plans.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed environment, supporting cultural identity and diversity.
• Build positive relationships with young people and families to promote wellbeing and life skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, teams, and community agencies to provide integrated support.
• Participate in school routines, activities, and professional development.
• Maintain records and comply with child safety, organisational policies, and legal requirements.

Skills and Experience

• Relevant qualifications in Education Support, Youth Work or similar and/or equivalent experience e.g. cultural and community knowledge and experience
• Demonstrated experience engaging and supporting young people with complex needs, their families and communities, to foster young people’s engagement in learning
• High level communication skills including the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with young people, families and communities
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to provide and support a range of wellbeing and engagement programs and activities.
• Current First Aid certification
• Current unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence and ability to drive 12 seat vehicles.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and NSW Working with Children check.
