Job summary

Geelong Indian Restaurant in Geelong West is seeking a skilled Chef to join our team. You will prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes, develop menu items, ensure high standards of hygiene and food safety, and oversee kitchen operations. The role requires leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure during busy service hours.

Position: Chef, Location: 17 Pakington Street, Geelong West, Vic-3218. Employment type: Permanent, Full time.

Qualifications

Diploma in Kitchen Management or higher.
A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required.

Responsibilities

Plan, design, and prepare menus reflecting the restaurant’s style and customer expectations.
Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure high-quality food preparation.
Supervise, train and support kitchen staff to maintain consistency and teamwork.
Manage stock levels, orders, and control food costs to minimize waste and maintain efficiency.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards.
Monitor cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen equipment and work areas.
Maintain quality control by checking taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
Collaborate with management on menu updates, seasonal specials, and new recipes.
