Job summary

Murrin Murrin Operations, part of Glencore, is seeking a community & environment liaison to strengthen partnerships with local communities and stakeholders across WA’s Goldfields. This role supports heritage approvals, environmental inspections and water monitoring, and acts as a conduit for information between employees, contractors and communities.

You will hold a tertiary qualification in communications or related field, a WA C class driver’s licence, and demonstrate excellent communication,

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations or related field.
• WA C class drivers’ licence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
• Ability to engage people at all levels of the organisation.
• Good computer skills with word processing, spreadsheets and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate partnerships and initiatives that develop the capacity of local communities.
• Liaise with community groups, government departments and other stakeholders.
• Facilitate heritage approvals.
• Promote community and cultural awareness through advice to and communication with all employees and contractors.
• Complete environmental inspections/audits, conduct water monitoring and undertake other environment-related tasks as required.
• Provide support to the pastoral operations as an accessible liaison point for pastoral staff.
