Job summary

Sydney Local Health District is seeking an Operating Theatre Assistant at Canterbury Hospital to support the Perioperative Department. The role involves porterage, theatre linen, cleaning duties and intraoperative tasks such as transferring patients onto the operating table and positioning them for procedures.

Permanent full-time (38 hours per week) or permanent part-time (minimum 20 hours per week) positions, with rosters including afternoon and evening shifts, and night duty.

Qualifications

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in intraoperative theatre duties or willingness to learn.
• Ability to commit to a roster providing afternoon and evening cover 7 days a week, including night shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide porterage, theatre linen supplies, and cleaning services.
• Assist in intraoperative theatre duties including transfers onto the operating table and positioning of patients.
