Job summary

MQ Health is recruiting Scrub/Scout Registered Nurses with perioperative theatre experience to join the Perioperative Services team at Macquarie University Hospital, North Ryde. You will support General Surgery and Plastics lists, preparing theatres, maintaining aseptic technique and ensuring patient safety through documentation and effective communication.

Qualifications

• RN with current AHPRA registration
• Recent perioperative theatre experience preferred
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
• Autonomous with professional judgement and critical thinking
• Proficient computer skills including EMR and MS Office

Responsibilities

• Provide safe perioperative nursing care as Scrub/Scout
• Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention
• Prepare, check and manage instruments and consumables
• Demonstrate clinical judgement and escalate intraoperative risks
• Communicate with surgeons, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary team
• Complete documentation and participate in safety checks
• Support learning and continuous improvement within the team
