Job summary

Mater Hospital Sydney, North Sydney, is seeking a casual Perioperative Registered Nurse with Scrub/Scout expertise. Join a private hospital renowned for world-class care and a strong community focus, offering a supportive environment and on-call opportunities as needed.

Successful candidates will hold an AHPRA registration, a nursing degree, and current scrub/scout experience in cardiac, vascular, orthopaedic or neurosurgical settings.

Qualifications

• Valid AHPRA registration.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Current or recent cardiac, vascular, orthopaedic and/or neurosurgical scrub/scout experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to patient centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient-centred care to patients undergoing complex surgical procedures.
• Work effectively as a Scrub or Scout RN within a multidisciplinary operating theatre team.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, VMOs, allied health professionals and nursing colleagues.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, visitors, colleagues and other stakeholders.
• Ensure patient and staff confidentiality is always maintained.
• Contribute to a culture of safety, teamwork, respect and continuous improvement.
• Maintain compliance with relevant Department of Health requirements, Work Health and Safety standards and infection prevention and control practices.
• Some on-call commitments for your specialty will be required, including occasional nights and weekends.
