Job summary

Flinders Medical Centre is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager for Perioperative Services to lead the scrub/scout nursing team and drive clinical standards in a complex surgical setting. The role reports to the Nursing Director and focuses on rostering, clinical practice and quality improvement within a high-acuity perioperative environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse/Midwife with 3+ years full-time equivalent post-registration experience.
• Proven perioperative nursing competence and extensive clinical perioperative experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead scrub/scout nursing team and oversee clinical practice, rostering and quality improvement in a high-acuity perioperative environment.
• Guide policy development, processes and safety across the operating suite.
• Use information systems to inform decision making, monitor incidents and analyse outcomes.
• Contribute to development and monitoring of corporate policies within perioperative services.
