Job summary

NSW Health at Manning Hospital, Taree, seeks a Registered Nurse – Theatre to deliver evidence-based perioperative care across the operating theatre, spanning instrument/circulating roles in multiple surgical specialties. The role includes preparation of a safe, sterile theatre, assisting surgeons and the perioperative team, and monitoring patients throughout the perioperative period.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Demonstrated perioperative (Instrument/Circulating) experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based perioperative nursing care across the operating theatre.
• Work in Instrument/Circulating roles across various surgical specialties.
• Prepare and maintain a safe, sterile operating environment.
• Assist surgeons, anaesthetists and perioperative team during procedures.
• Monitor patients during the perioperative phase and respond to changes.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and infection control standards.
• Participate in quality improvement and professional development.
• Mentor junior staff and students where appropriate.
