Job summary
Showtime Consulting Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking an experienced PeopleSoft System Administrator to support a major upgrade from PeopleSoft 8.59 to 8.62. Qualifications
- Experience as a PeopleSoft System Administrator in enterprise environments.
- Upgrading PeopleSoft from 8.59 to 8.62 experience.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft tools, app servers, web servers, and middleware including Oracle WebLogic.
- Experience administering Oracle and/or SQL Server databases.
- Strong Linux/Unix and/or Windows Server administration.
- Backup, recovery, business continuity, and DR practices.
- Proven troubleshooting across infra and app layers.
- Strong documentation and stakeholder communication abilities.
Responsibilities
- Participate in upgrade planning, scope definition, impact assessments, and implementation activities for the PeopleSoft 8.59 to 8.62 upgrade.
- Review architecture, integrations, customisations, and infrastructure readiness to identify risks and dependencies.
- Build, configure, and support Development, Test, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
- Install, configure, and maintain PeopleSoft tools, app/web servers, middleware, and supporting infrastructure.
- Develop and execute backup, restore, recovery, and rollback strategies to support upgrade activities and minimise risk.
- Manage PeopleSoft security, including user profiles, permissions, roles, and access controls.
- Monitor and optimise system performance during upgrade execution, testing cycles, and production deployment.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, database, networking, and cloud teams to align upgrade activities with schedules and change management.
- Support testing activities and post go-live monitoring and stabilization.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and upgrade artefacts.

We are seeking an experienced PeopleSoft System Administrator to support a major PeopleSoft upgrade program, transitioning from PeopleSoft 8.59 to 8.62.
This role will be responsible for the planning, administration, configuration, and ongoing support of the PeopleSoft environment throughout the upgrade lifecycle. You will play a critical role in ensuring system availability, performance, security, and stability as the organisation progresses through assessment, implementation, testing, production cutover, and post go-live support.
Working closely with infrastructure, database, network, cloud, and functional teams, you will help deliver a successful upgrade while maintaining operational continuity and adherence to governance and security requirements.
- Participate in upgrade planning, scope definition, impact assessments, and implementation activities for the PeopleSoft 8.59 to 8.62 upgrade.
- Review existing PeopleSoft architecture, integrations, customisations, and infrastructure readiness to identify risks and dependencies.
- Build, configure, and support Development, Test, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
- Install, configure, and maintain PeopleSoft tools, application servers, web servers, middleware, and supporting infrastructure.
- Develop and execute backup, restore, recovery, and rollback strategies to support upgrade activities and minimise operational risk.
- Manage PeopleSoft security, including user profiles, permissions, roles, and access controls.
- Monitor and optimise system performance during upgrade execution, testing cycles, and production deployment.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, database, networking, and cloud teams to ensure upgrade activities remain aligned with project schedules and change management requirements.
- Support system, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities, resolving environment and system-related issues.
- Execute production cutover activities and provide post go-live monitoring and stabilisation support.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and upgrade-related artefacts.
- Demonstrated experience as a PeopleSoft System Administrator within complex enterprise environments.
- Hands‑on experience delivering or supporting PeopleSoft upgrades, preferably from version 8.5x to 8.6x.
- Strong knowledge of PeopleSoft tools, application servers, web servers, and middleware technologies, including Oracle WebLogic.
- Experience administering database platforms commonly used with PeopleSoft, including Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Solid Linux/Unix and/or Windows Server administration experience.
- Strong understanding of backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery practices.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills across infrastructure and application layers.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and technical documentation capabilities.
- Experience supporting enterprise ERP environments and large-scale upgrade programs.
- Exposure to cloud‑hosted or hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, change management, and release management practices.
- Experience supporting or administering related enterprise platforms such as Hardcat and Ricoh Medius.
- Understanding of security, audit, and compliance requirements within regulated environments.
- Contribute to a significant enterprise technology transformation program.
- Work with experienced infrastructure, application, and project delivery teams.
- Play a key role in the successful upgrade and ongoing optimisation of a critical business platform.
