Job summary

Showtime Consulting Pty Ltd is hiring a Workday Functional Consultant to support the implementation, configuration, and ongoing optimization of Workday across HR, payroll, financials, and other modules. You will work directly with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams to deliver scalable, best‑practice solutions in enterprise environments.

You will lead configuration, testing, and deployment activities, create documentation and training materials, and act as a functional SME for assigned Workday

Qualifications

• Experience implementing and configuring Workday solutions across multiple modules.
• Strong ability to gather requirements, design processes, and deliver configurations.
• Experience with Workday security roles, domains, and access controls.
• Experience developing Workday reports and integrations.
• Knowledge of EIBs, data migration, and testing activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead Workday implementations across HCM, Payroll, Recruiting, Financials, Benefits, and Absence modules.
• Configure business processes, workflows, and approvals within Workday BPF.
• Develop and maintain reports, calculated fields, and integrations.
• Coordinate with HR, IT, and Finance stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.
• Provide end‑to‑end support from design through hypercare.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Workday Functional Consultant to support the implementation, configuration, enhancement, and ongoing optimisation of Workday solutions across multiple functional areas.
This role is suited to a hands‑on Workday professional with strong experience across business process configuration, reporting, security, testing, stakeholder engagement, and deployment activities. You will work closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions aligned to organisational requirements and Workday best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support Workday implementations across HCM, Payroll, Recruiting, Financials, Benefits, and Absence modules.
• Configure Workday business processes, organisations, frameworks, and policies.
• Design, configure, and maintain Business Process Frameworks (BPF), condition rules, approvals, and notifications.
• Configure eligibility rules, validations, workflows, and organisational structures.
• Support data loading, migration, and conversion activities using EIBs and Workday tools.
• Conduct workshops to gather, analyse, and document business requirements.
• Translate business requirements into functional designs and configuration specifications.
• Perform fit‑gap analysis and recommend system or process improvements.
• Advise stakeholders on Workday capabilities, configuration options, and best practices.
• Design and maintain Workday security roles, user access, and domain security policies.
• Develop and support Standard, Advanced, and Matrix reports.
• Create calculated fields to support reporting and integrations.
• Provide functional support for integrations including Core Connectors, Studio, and Web Services.
• Coordinate integration activities with technical and development teams.
• Develop test scenarios, test scripts, and validation documentation.
• Support unit testing, SIT, UAT, deployment activities, and hypercare support.
• Perform impact assessments for Workday releases and evaluate new features.
• Create end‑user documentation, training materials, and knowledge transfer documentation.
• Deliver user training sessions and stakeholder workshops.
• Act as the functional SME for assigned Workday modules.

What You’ll Need

• Strong experience implementing and configuring Workday solutions.
• Experience across one or more Workday modules including HCM, Payroll, Recruiting, Financials, Absence, or Benefits.
• Strong understanding of Workday Business Process Frameworks (BPF).
• Experience configuring business processes, workflows, condition rules, and approvals.
• Experience with EIBs, data migration, data loads, and data conversion activities.
• Strong requirements gathering, business analysis, and workshop facilitation skills.
• Experience preparing functional specifications and solution design documentation.
• Strong understanding of Workday security roles, domain security, and access controls.
• Experience developing Workday Standard, Advanced, and Matrix reports.
• Experience creating calculated fields for reporting and integrations.
• Knowledge of Workday integrations including Core Connectors, Studio, and Web Services is highly regarded.
• Experience supporting SIT, UAT, deployment, and hypercare activities.
• Experience assessing Workday releases and enabling new functionality.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working across HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams.
• Ability to deliver training, knowledge transfer, and user enablement activities.
• Workday certifications are highly regarded.
• Experience working within large enterprise or transformation environments is advantageous.
