Job summary

Office of Sport is seeking a People Partner to collaborate with leaders, build a capable and inclusive workforce, and strengthen culture across NSW. You will guide leaders on workforce decisions, performance, and talent development, while navigating complex people matters with practical coaching and insights.

Working with the People & Culture team, you will help ensure capacity, capability and leadership to address current priorities and future change.

Qualifications

• Experience as an HR Business Partner or in a People & Culture role.
• Strong capability in workforce planning, performance management and employee relations.
• Ability to coach leaders through complex workforce challenges and change.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Job description

• Partner with leaders to build the workforce, capability and culture needed to deliver sport and active recreation outcomes across NSW.
• Salary ranges from $133,348 to $146,945 + super & leave loading.
• Ongoing Fulltime opportunity based at Sydney Olympic Park location – flexible work arrangements available

About the role

As a People Partner, you will partner with leaders to build the workforce, capability and culture needed to deliver exceptional outcomes for communities across NSW.

You will strengthen leadership capability by helping leaders make informed workforce decisions, manage performance, develop talent and confidently navigate complex people matters. Through coaching, advice and workforce insights, you will support leaders to address challenges early, build engaged and capable teams, and create workplaces where people feel they belong, are valued and can perform at their best.

Working collaboratively across People & Culture, you will help ensure the office has the capacity, capability and leadership needed to respond to current priorities, future workforce needs and organisational change.

About you

You are an experienced HR Business Partner who builds trusted relationships and helps people leaders achieve business outcomes through their teams.

You bring strong experience in workforce planning, performance management and employee relations, and are confident coaching people leaders through complex workforce challenges. You combine sound judgement with a practical, solutions-focused approach, enabling people leaders to make informed decisions, build capable teams and foster positive workplace cultures.

You will bring:

• Experience in a business partnering, HR or People & Culture role.


• Capability across workforce planning, performance management, employee relations and organisational change.


• Experience coaching people leaders through performance, capability and workplace issues.


• Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.


• Sound judgement and the ability to navigate complex and sensitive matters.

A Day in the Life

One day, you could be partnering with a people leader to identify workforce risks and future capability requirements. The next, you might be coaching another leader through a challenging performance matter, analysing workforce trends, supporting a change initiative or collaborating with your colleagues in the P&C team to deliver a workforce solution.

Every day is different, but your focus remains the same: building leadership capability, strengthening workforce performance and helping leaders create team cultures where people feel they belong, are valued for their contribution and can perform at their best.
