Job summary

Sugar Australia is seeking an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to join our Mackay team. Based at Racecourse Refinery, you’ll partner with site leaders to deliver people plans, advise on ER/IR matters, manage enterprise bargaining, and lead end-to-end recruitment across Northern Loop sites.

Reporting to the General Manager, P&C, you’ll drive culture and leadership capability while supporting workforce planning and onboarding. Travel to multiple sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in People & Culture Generalist or Business Partnering roles.
• Strong employee and industrial relations experience with leaders.
• Experience in enterprise bargaining and implementation of agreements.
• Knowledge of current employment legislation and industrial relations.
• Experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Ability to coach and build relationships with leaders at all levels.
• Experience managing the employee lifecycle including recruitment and onboarding.
• Experience supporting geographically dispersed operations.
• Exposure to HRIS platforms such as SuccessFactors and Litmos is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to deliver people plans and operational priorities across Northern Loop sites.
• Provide coaching and advice on employee and industrial relations, performance, investigations.
• Lead enterprise bargaining negotiations and implementations.
• Drive end-to-end recruitment and workforce planning initiatives.
• Support culture, engagement, and leadership capability through coaching and development.
• Contribute to talent and succession planning and wellbeing initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement across P&C practices and processes.
