Job summary

FOCUS Connect is seeking an experienced HR professional to lead the People & Culture function, reporting to the CEO. This hands-on role balances strategy with practical workforce delivery to create capable, connected teams across office, home and field.

You will oversee recruitment, capability development, employee relations and workforce planning while embedding compliant, people-centred practices that support sustainability and growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ HR/People & Culture experience (service-based or regulated environments preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and modern awards (SCHADS highly regarded).
• Experience across recruitment, ER, performance, onboarding and compliance.
• Confidence with HR systems and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment, onboarding & retention – Strengthen quality of hire and reduce regrettable turnover.
• Capability & performance – Support role clarity, leadership development and training compliance.
• Employee relations – Provide pragmatic advice across performance and conduct matters.
• Workforce planning & rostering governance – Partner with operational leaders to support sustainability.
• WHS & wellbeing – Lead prevention-focused WHS and return-to-work governance.

You will lead the Staff & Operations Team Lead, ProjectOfficerand Receptionist.

Hybrid working across office, home and field asrequired.
