CPB Contractors, part of the CIMIC Group, is seeking a People & Culture Advisor for the HumeLink West project in the Wagga Wagga region, NSW. You will support delivery teams on P&C initiatives, coach leaders, and coordinate recruitment and employee lifecycle matters on a major energy infrastructure program.

The role includes a 10 days on/4 days off roster with accommodation and meals provided at Tarcutta or Kunama camp, and possible non-traditional hours aligned with construction works.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years People & Culture experience.
• Experience in coaching and influencing leaders.
• Ability to interpret employment contracts and employment legislation.
• Experience within the engineering/construction industry desirable.
• Current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card) or equivalent.

HumeLink West Project

Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the ~140km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.

HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.

The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.

The Opportunity

This role will be based in the Wagga Wagga area for the duration of the project supporting the HumeLink West construction delivery team. The role will work on a 10 days on 4 day off roster and accommodation and meals provided at Tarcutta or Kunama camp. The role may be required to work non-traditional hours in line with construction works.

Key Accountabilities

We are seeking an experienced People & Culture Advisor to join the HumeLink West team. The position is responsible for:

• Develop and implement People & Culture initiatives to support project delivery priorities and company objectives.


• Provide guidance and advice on legislative changes and interpretations of P&C policies and procedures to the management and leadership team.


• Build and maintain business relationships with key stakeholders.


• Facilitate training and coaching for employees


• In collaboration with the Talent Manager, coordinate the end-to-end recruitment and selection process utilising various sourcing channels for staff and workforce.


• Work closely with P&C admin to manage employee lifecycle matters including promotions, remuneration and position title changes.


• Coach and influence hiring managers and leaders on the project.


• Model and demonstrate constructive working relationships and information exchange within the team and stakeholders.

About You

• Experience in coaching and influencing leaders.


• Minimum 4 years People & Culture experience.


• Demonstrated ability to interpret employment contract and knowledge of relevant employment legislation.


• Experience within the engineering / construction industry (desirable)


• Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft office programs (including excel, word and PowerPoint).

The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.

Where applicable, evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.
