Job summary

Duratec is seeking a capable People & Culture Advisor to provide generalist advice across Defence, mining, infrastructure, marine, construction and energy sectors. You will partner with operational leaders to drive project delivery and build strong relationships across the business.

The role requires knowledge of employment law, awards and EBA, plus experience handling performance, discipline and terminations. A bachelor’s degree in HR or related field is required.

Qualifications

  • Solid knowledge of employment law, industrial regulation, awards and EBA’s.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide coaching and advice on employee relations matters.
  • Experience in a P&C Advisor role within construction/mining or similar.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Provide generalist P&C advice and support to stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Ensure HR practices align with Defence, mining, infrastructure, marine, construction and energy sectors.
  • Coach and advise on performance, discipline and terminations.
  • Interpret Duratec Enterprise Agreement and relevant awards and NES.
  • Support recruitment through candidate sourcing, screening and interviewing.
  • Coordinate visa nominations with migration agent and ensure sponsorship compliance.
  • Assist with HR initiatives and projects as required.

THE ROLE

The Successful Applicant Will Provide Generalist P&C Advice And Support To a Range Of Stakeholders Across Our Multidisciplinary ASX Listed Organisation, Including But Not Limited To

  • Ensuring HR practices are aligned with the unique requirements of sectors such as Defence, mining, infrastructure, marine, construction, and energy
  • Build strong, practical partnerships with operational leaders to support successful project delivery
  • Provide coaching and advice on employee relation matters including performance, discipline and terminations
  • Interpret relevant industrial instruments, including the Duratec Enterprise Agreement, relevant industry awards, Fair Work Act and NES
  • Support stakeholders in the delivery of people-related calendar activity, including performance reviews, remuneration reviews and engagement surveys
  • Support transactional processes and liaise with payroll and other corporate services
  • Liaise with migration agent and coordinating employee visa / sponsorship nominations
  • Support recruitment activities through candidate sourcing, screening and interviewing, while building strong relationships with local talent networks, industry groups and community stakeholders to attract and retain high-quality candidates.
  • Support the implementation of HR initiatives and projects, as required
What You'll Need To Succeed

The successful applicant will be passionate about driving exceptional employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle, and will possess the following:

  • Experience in a P&C Advisor role within the construction, engineering or mining sector (or similar industry)
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, industrial regulation, awards and EBA’s
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, clear communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
