Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support Nifty Project and Surface Mining operations in Australia. You will collaborate with leaders to drive people initiatives, advise on performance and ER matters, and ensure policy compliance.

• Demonstrated HRBP experience in mining/contracting.
• Knowledge of employee relations and industrial frameworks.
• Ability to interpret legislation and enterprise agreements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with HRIS systems and SuccessFactors is desirable.

Job description

• Partner with operational leaders to deliver people initiatives supporting business performance, workforce capability and project outcomes across the Nifty Project and Surface Mining operations
• Provide trusted HR and employee relations advice on performance, conduct, investigations, disciplinary matters and terminations
• Ensure compliance with policy, legislation and industrial frameworks
• Use workforce insights, HR metrics and HRIS data to identify trends and improve people and operational outcomes
• Partner with leaders, recruitment and mobilisation teams on talent acquisition, onboarding, mobilisation, retention and workforce planning
• Lead implementation of Macmahon’s people frameworks
• Champion core values and foster a high-performing, inclusive culture

Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employee Relations or a related discipline
• Demonstrated People (HR) Business Partner experience in mining, contracting or a similar industry
• Strong knowledge of employee relations, industrial relations and contemporary people practices, ideally within blue-collar or operational workforces
• Ability to interpret legislation and enterprise agreements
• Experience using SuccessFactors is not mandatory or will be desirable
• Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to build credibility across leaders, site teams and corporate functions
• Regular travel to site as required
