Job summary

Indigenous Business Australia is seeking a People Business Partner to join the People, Performance and Culture (PPC) team in Canberra. The role provides expert HR advice across employee relations, safety, compliance and workforce initiatives to support organisational objectives.

You will partner with leaders to manage complex people matters, ensuring compliance with legislation, the Enterprise Agreement, and policies.

Qualifications

• HR professional with experience in employee relations and investigations.
• Ability to develop, review and implement people policies and practices.
• Strong advisory skills across compliance, safety and workforce initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex employee relations matters including misconduct, performance issues, grievances and workplace investigations.
• Support rehabilitation, return-to-work and workers compensation case management.
• Develop and review people policies, procedures and workplace practices.
• Provide advice on workplace relations, employment conditions, compliance and people management.
• Support consultation processes, WHS committees and enterprise bargaining activities.
• Partner with leaders and stakeholders across the organisation.

Job description

The People Business Partner is a key member of the People, Performance and Culture (PPC) team,
providing expert HR advice and support across employee relations, workplace health and safety,
compliance and workforce initiatives.

Partnering closely with leaders, you will manage complex people matters and provide strategic, riskinformed
advice to support organisational objectives and ensure compliance with legislation, the
Enterprise Agreement and organisational policies.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing complex employee relations matters, including misconduct, performance, grievances, disputes and workplace investigations.
• Supporting rehabilitation, return-to-work and workers compensation case management.
• Developing and reviewing people policies, procedures and workplace practices.
• Providing advice on workplace relations, employment conditions, compliance and people management.
• Supporting consultation processes, WHS committees and enterprise bargaining activities.
• Building effective partnerships with leaders and stakeholders across the organisation.
• Leading and developing a small team while contributing to broader PPC priorities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Preparing high-quality reports, briefings and correspondence on sensitive and complex matters.
