Job summary

WaterNSW is hiring a PEGA Developer for a two-year maximum-term program to modernise critical infrastructure systems. You will build and enhance PEGA applications, influence the roadmap, and work within a strong executive-supported delivery program to deliver tangible value.

You’ll contribute to platform upgrades, UI improvements, and AI-driven features while collaborating with a capable team and maintaining enterprise-standard architecture.

Qualifications

• PEGA credentials (CSSA/CLSA-P1) and practical PEGA development experience.
• Hands-on experience designing and delivering enterprise PEGA solutions.
• Experience across the full SDLC from requirements to deployment and support.
• Ability to build reusable components and scalable architectures.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Self-driven, able to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure and enhance PEGA applications aligned to enterprise architecture.
• Prioritise enhancements and support business cases delivering measurable value.

What you’ll do

• Build, configure and enhance applications on the PEGA platform, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and aligned with enterprise architecture and development best practice.
• Contribute to a growing PEGA roadmap, helping prioritise enhancements, identify opportunities for improvement and support business cases that deliver measurable value.
• Support major platform upgrades and innovations, including new user interface capabilities, workflow automation and emerging AI-driven functionality.
• Provide expert technical support and problem resolution, acting as a trusted escalation point to ensure platform stability, performance and service excellence.
• Collaborate with a high-performing and supportive team, sharing knowledge, contributing ideas and helping shape the future direction of the PEGA capability at WaterNSW.

What we are looking for

• Strong PEGA credentials, including CSSA or CLSA-P1 certification, backed by relevant qualifications and practical software development experience.
• Proven PEGA expertise, with hands‑on experience designing, building and optimising enterprise-scale solutions across the PEGA platform.
• Experience delivering across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through to deployment, support and continuous improvement.
• Experience developing reusable enterprise components and scalable architecture, ensuring solutions are resilient, maintainable and aligned to business objectives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technology teams.
• A self-driven professional who can manage competing priorities, work independently and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes.

WaterNSW operates the state’s dams, capturing and storing water, and then supplying it ready for distribution – for the environment, agriculture, industry and the community. With 41 major dams and hundreds of waterways across the state, we play a vital role at the source of the state’s water, delivering two thirds of all water used in NSW.
