Job summary

Neami National in Australia is seeking Peer Workers (PWs) who draw on their own lived experience of recovery to support others facing mental health challenges. Guided by Intentional Peer Support (IPS) and the National Lived Experience Workforce Guidelines, PWs provide emotional, social, and service support through one-on-one interactions, peer-led groups, and collaborative care.

Qualifications

• Lived experience of recovery and willingness to identify as a professional with lived experience
• Willingness to share lived experience to instil confidence and hope in others
• Current Working with Children Check and National Criminal History Check are required

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support one-on-one and in groups guided by IPS and the National Lived Experience Workforce Guidelines
• Facilitate peer-led groups and participate in transdisciplinary teamwork
• Support consumers toward meaningfully engaging in their health and wellbeing
